As an accomplished self taught artist, Thaya Henish has taken her artist's eye and combined it with the eye of her camera to create not just a pretty photograph but capture the feeling of the moment, whether it is a nostalgic country scene or a teeming city.

Her love for photography developed at an early age as she watched her father, an outstanding portrait photographer in his own right, applying his talents in his studio in Morgantown, WV. It was a time when the photographer not only took the picture, but also, with a darkroom on premises, enhanced the finished portrait by applying his artistic touch to the printing process. Watching this 'magic' as a child developed into an artful talent as an adult for Thaya.

Her work has won recognition in photography shows. Some of her photographs taken in Poland and Russia as well as local works have been featured in international publications.
